General Information:

What time is check-in/check-out?
Check-in: 3pm Check-out: 11am. If necessary we can store your luggage. Early check-in and late check-out are sometimes available upon request.

Do you have FREE Wireless Internet?
Compass Point Beach Resort has free wireless internet available to all guests throughout the resort.
*Please note that due to weather and windy conditions on the island that service may be slow or unavailable at certain times.

Do I need to rent a car?
It is a personal choice as some guests decide to rent a car while others do not. If you are interested in touring the island and stopping at various points a long the way on your own time, it may be a good idea. Although, taxis are readily available across most of the island and the jitney bus is also another way to get around. Many tours arrange free pick up from hotels.

Can I take a taxi or bus?
Taxis are available at the airport, cable beach, downtown and Paradise Island. The Jitney bus picks up right outside Compass Point on average every 30 minutes. The #10 Western will take you from Compass Point to Downtown.
*Please note that the Jitney bus does not run after 5pm and they often have erratic schedules on the weekends.

How much does a Taxi cost to Cable Beach? Downtown? Paradise Island? To the Airport? And how far?
*Please negotiate a price with the driver beforehand as often times they do not use their meters. Also prices are higher if more than 2 people.

How do I book a taxi?
Please ask the front desk to call and arrange a taxi for you.

Are taxes and gratuities included in our bill?
A 20% hotel tax and service charge is added to your final bill. All food items purchased from the restaurant have a 15% service gratuity included.

Is there a gift shop? What do you sell?
There is a small gift shop selling various sundries, t-shirts, candybars and drinks across from the front desk. It is open from 8am-10pm.

What is around Compass Point?

The Caves shopping complex is a 5 min. drive from CP. It has a gourmet market, restaurants, pharmacy, Spa and Salon and liquor store.
Sandyport shopping area is a 10 min. drive from CP. It has restaurants, boutique shops, Bally’s gym, a hair salon and a grocery store.
Traveller’s Rest Restaurant is within walking distance from CP
Lyford Cay supermarket is a 5 min. drive from CP

What restaurants are nearby?

Lyford Cay supermarket is a 5 minute drive West. The Caves gourmet market is 5 min. drive East. A local supermarket is a 10 min. drive East just past Sandyport which is cheaper than Lyford Cay.

Should we bring our own snorkeling equipment or can we rent them?
We have snorkeling equipment that can be checked out for free, but there are a limited number of sets.

Can I bring my own DVD(s) or CD(s) to listen to in the room?
All rooms are equipped with DVD/CD players to enjoy your music or movies. Feel free to bring your own from home.

Are DVDs/CDs and board games available to check out?
Various DVDs/CDs and board games are available at the front desk for guests to check out and use during their stay with us.

What do you recommend to do if we are bringing kids to the CP?
Swimming and playing with sand toys at the beach, visiting Ardastra Gardens, or swimming with dolphins at Dolphin Encounters.

Do you have stow-away beds for children?
Upon making reservations please inform of us of how many children you will have staying in your room to reserve an AeroBed. Portacribs are also available.

We are celebrating an anniversary/honeymoon, can you arrange flowers or champagne for us?
Please contact us by phone or email to arrange any special requests during your stay with us. We will be happy to arrange something or make suggestions with regards to any celebrations.

How do I book for a massage?
Bookings for massages can be made at the front desk We recommend booking at least one day in advance.

Are there other spa services available?
Barefoot Retreat Spa will be offering various spa treatments for both and non-guests. Bookings are required in advance.

Pool passes are available for non-guests for $20/ day. These can be purchased at the front desk.

What is the weather like during the year?
Check out www.weather.com for average temperatures for Nassau. The weather can be extremely hot in the summer months sometimes exceeding 90 degrees. The summer months bring on scattered thunderstorms, but these usually only last less than an hour each day. The winter months can be cooler and extremely windy at times. While the days can be absolutely beautiful with warm temperatures, the nights can cool down quickly.

What should I wear in the Bahamas?
During the year, typical summer clothing can be worn. Although, throughout the winter months, nights cool off quickly and pants or a sweater may be necessary.

What are the restaurant hours?
The restaurant is open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner from 8am-10pm Sunday through Thursday and 8am-11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Breakfast: 8am – 11:30am
Lunch: 11am – 5pm
Dinner 5pm - 10pm Fri. and Sat. 5pm-11pm
Bar is open until late

Do I need to make a reservation?
Reservations are not necessary for smaller groups, couples or individuals, but generally a good idea. If you are planning to bring a group of 8 or more make a reservation beforehand.

What is the attire for the restaurant?
While some do wear jackets to dinner, they are not required. Compass Point is a casual and relaxed environment and we want you to feel the same. Dress as you please.

Do you have live music?
Every Friday night there is Karaoke at the Oceanfront Bar from 9:30pm -12:30am. Saturday nights, there is Live Entertainment from 9:30pm -12:30am.

I am having a group of 8 or more, is a set menu available? Or may we arrange a personalized set menu for our group?

I am having a birthday party for lunch/dinner, can Compass Point make a birthday cake for the party?
If given 1 week in advanced we can order a cake of your liking for your party.

Is the restaurant ever closed due to bad weather?
With strong winds, rain and storms, the outdoor patio and oceanfront bar are not always available for dining. During these conditions a section of the outdoor patio is covered and has rain/wind tarps that allow for dining. The inside dining room is open for dining under any weather conditions.

When is Room Service available?
Room service is available from 8am-10pm daily.
